Fashion Month is O-V-E-R! Lets be honest, the runway and street style images became a bit overwhelming. I think it was around week 3 when someone posted a picture of their dog, or their baby, or their dinner, or something that normally wouldn't thrill me and it felt really nice. LIKE. LIKE. LIKING IT IMMEDIATELY. Luckily, I came across Style Snooper Dan, a street style blog that scans every amazing fashion site and curates the best of the best images accordingly, saving us all countless click. Check out my interview with Dan Castano, the founder of Style Snooper Dan and my personal godsend. Accompanied with the, "Fashion Month Round Up" she made for Andiwaslike.com! It's the superlatives of street style from New York, London, Milan and Paris... all in one scroll. And I was like... bookmark her site immediately!
And I was like: where are you from and why street style?
Style Snooper Dan: I'm from Melbourne Australia & Streetstyle to me, is so much more interesting because it's a different avenue of fashion thats more readily accessible. With streetstyle, you can really see how someone has put their outfit together to express themselves. It can be really organic and I love that. There's nothing worse than seeing someone's whose clothes are wearing them.
AIWL: Describe your personal style.
SSD: My personal style is a mix and mashup of classic 'French editor' minimalist style pieces with a healthy dose of Eurotrash bling and colour. I love a sequin and I love mixing textures. My current daily go to's are my Sass & Bide boyfriend jeans and my black birkenstocks. Zara is definitely my one stop shop before any other
AIWL: Favorite trend right now?
SSD: The Sneakers trend! I love this little slice of comfort in fashion and feel we should indulge in it before it disappears and we're back in heels! I bought a black pair of Isabel Marant Bekett sneakers 2 years ago and they have been without doubt the best investment I've ever made!
AIWL: Least favorite trend right now?
SSD: Socks with heels. It's just a really hard look to pull off without looking like you're trying really hard. To me, fashion needs to look organic on the person and there's very few people who can do this without it looking too calculated. I don't hate the look, I just think it needs to be done right.
AIWL: Fav girl on the streets?
SSD: Throughout this past month, it has to be Margaret Zhang of Shine By Three (pictured above). She has the best layering style and always rocks a great jacket. I love that she doesn't look like anyone else and never looks too manufactured.
